Gareth is a Cardiff-born composer; he completed a BMus degree at King’s College London in 2000, graduating with first class honours, before completing an MPhil at the University of Birmingham in 2003 and a PhD at Cardiff University in 2016.

 

He won the Composers’ Medal at the Welsh National Eisteddfod in 2016 and 2012 (Monmouthshire and Vale of Glamorgan respectively) and his work has been performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Rarescale, Exaudi, the Carducci Quartet, Lontano, Electroacwstig CYMRU, Juliet Fraser, Richard Craig, Catrin Finch, Fiona Slominska, Osian Llyr Rowlands and Jeffrey Howard
